Rina
Ferrario is Miss Lake County 2006 - 2007!
Rina
Ferrario was crowned Miss Lake County 2006-2007 at a private ceremony held
January 23, 2007 at the office of Dr. William Combs in Lakeport. In
attendance was the Field Director for Miss California, Gwen Atkins, and
former Miss Lake County 2005-2006, Saundra Combs, who did the honors of presenting
her crown, as well as her sponsors, Rob & Kim Brown of Kelseyville, her
parents, Gino and Brenda Ferrario and the Committee Members of the Miss Lake
County Scholarship Organization.
A 2006 graduate
of Kelseyville High School, Ms. Ferrario was 1st Runner Up to Emily Barker at
the Miss Lake County Pageant held August 11, 2006, where she received
$1,500.00 in scholarship monies. When Ms. Barker resigned January 1,
2007, for personal reasons, the committee invited Ms. Ferrario to step up to
the plate.
"We are
thrilled that Rina is joining us," says the Committee. "She's a
talented and beautiful young lady that possesses all the qualities of an
ambassador for Lake County: she's dedicated and enthusiastic about serving
her community, she's kind-hearted, honest and gracious. and she's passionate
about using her platform to make a difference."
A freshman at
Humboldt State University, California, Ms. Ferrario is majoring in political
science. Her future plans include receiving a Masters Degree in
Political Science to later become a lobbyist or elected government official.
As Miss Lake County, she will focus on developing her platform,
"Political Awareness and Voter Registration" and begin preparing
for the Miss California Pageant this summer.
"It will be an
incredible honor to represent this beautiful Lake County," says
Ferrario. "I was raised in Lake County my entire life and I will
be pleased to represent my home county at Miss California 2007."
"I would
like to thank my wonderful sponsors, Rob and Kim Brown of Kelseyville for all
their support. Also my parents, Gino and Brenda Ferrario and my brother,
David, for all their love and encouragement. I am so excited to begin
working with such a fun team of people on the Miss Lake County committee who
will continually help me be the best Miss Lake County I can be and give me
opportunities to shine in Miss California."
"As Miss
Lake County, I would love to bring as much service to my county as possible,
so please contact the Miss Lake County Committee at www.misslakecounty.org.
Although I do have school and a busy schedule, I will be honored to attend
any event."
