Meet Miss Lake County 2005 - 2006
Saundra Marie Combs
Saundra Marie Combs won the title of Miss Lake County in 2005 and competed at the Miss California Pageant in the summer of 2006.
Miss Lake County was not Saundra's first experience in a pageant; she has been competed in pageants in Montana, Tennessee, and California--all states where she has lived. But being crowned Miss Lake County was a highlight of her pageant experiences. She enjoyed a year of representing Lake County and competing for Miss California.
Saundra began attending the University of San Diego in the Fall of 2006. At USD, Saundra plans to major in biology with a pre-med emphasis. She is also pursuing a minor music and sings in the prestigious Chorale Scholars.
Saundra's ultimate goal is to attend medical school and become a physician specializing in sports medicine. In this profession, Saundra will be able to help athletes who have the same passion for sports that she does by treating their injuries and getting them back in the game.
Saundra has always had a lifelong passion music and singing. Her accomplishments as a musician recently earned her the award for Lake County's Amateur Artist of the Year at the Stars of Lake County.
Not surprisingly, Saundra enjoys keeping busy. She has never had a lot of spare time, being involved in volleyball, basketball, track, student government, band, and choir in the last several years. Saundra also makes many singing appearances across Lake County and the state.
Saundra is also the founder and president of the "Big Champ/Little Champ Foundation," known for its "Let's Get Physical!" slogan (www.letsgetphysical.org). Through this organization, Saundra passionately promotes health and fitness among today's youth by mentoring children and teens to teach them about healthy diet and exercise choices. This issue also serves as her platform in the Miss America Organization.
When it's time to relax, Saundra enjoys reading, watching TV (her favorite show is Desperate Housewives), working out, and boating on Clear Lake during the summer. When she's not at school in San Diego, she resides in Lakeport with her parents, William and Patricia Combs. Saundra also has three brothers: Craig, Daryl, and Billy.
